It wasn't the best score he could have gotten on his Wonderlic Test. Quarterback John Welsh wound up with a Wonderlic Test score of 20. Even with that low result, Welsh proved a resilient quarterback at the University of Idaho. He led a team picked to finish last in the Big West Conference to a 9-3 record and a win over Southern Miss in the Humanitarian Bowl. He never made it to the NFL, but did play arena football for a while and was quarterback for the Chicago Fire Department's football team.
