You scored a 40. You're as smart as Carson Wentz, he scored a 40.
Carson Wentz, the budding quarterback out of North Dakota State University, recently had a very strong performance at the 2016 NFL Combine. Alongside posting a 4.77s 40 yard dash time, a 31" vertical jump, and 118" broad jump, Carson Wentz scored a 40 on his Wonderlic test. Wentz's Wonderlic score was significantly higher than Cam Newton's Wonderlic score of 21, Jameis Winston's Wonderlic score of 27, and Peyton Manning's Wonderlic score of 28. So what does Wentz's performance actually mean for his future NFL potential?
Well to be frank, nobody really knows.
Even though he posted a significantly higher score than both of the starting quarterbacks at Super Bowl 50, Carson Wentz's Wonderlic test score is not the be all end all of his draft potential. While most NFL teams want their starting quarterback to have scored at least 21 on their Wonderlic test, their performance on the test isn't necessarily indicative of their performance in the league.
So although only time will tell where Wentz will fall on the NFL's spectrum of greatness, we know where he stands on the Wonderlic. Think you can do better?
